WILDLIFE PORTRAITURE
These artworks are based on photographs of the animals taken by the artist. Using a wood tool rather than a brush, the animals are drawn with paint and calligraphic pens, after which ink washes are applied with acrylic gesso to modify the surrounding values. Finally, the eyes are often painted to intensify a sense of the living presence of the animal.
