ABOUT

My artwork displays perspectives about animals and their surroundings, combined with a strong interest in natural science. I paint images to study the subject matter through the structure, form and light, and to make sense of unfriendly and uninhabitable environments. For reference, I venture out in the wild and in captive spaces, including healthy and polluted, natural and urban locations.

Unacknowledged as part of nature, humans tend to project themselves and their desired or imagined characteristics and emotions onto animals therefore, they can be seen as either extraordinary beings or as despised pests. In my artwork there is a serious examination (of what) and occasional humor, presenting creatures in visual context of the various factors that affect their lives within these spaces.
