These prints are based on photos taken by the artist. The images are carved from linoleum blocks using hand-held cutting tools, then printed with various types of inks on either smooth-pressed or hand-made papers. Then ink wash or colored pencil is added in the areas surrounding the animal formsIn some of them a stamp-print was created of a human heart and added to some of the animal figures as an indication of both the beating heart life of the animal and my hopeful connection to that.
